General Description
Interconnection with Microsoft Active Directory via LDAP protocol ensures that all users are automatically created and periodically synchronized with 2N Access Commander. LDAP synchronisation is used to download user data and any changes in users from an external Active Directory system. For example, if an administrator creates a new user with various attributes in the Active Directory, this user is also uploaded into the 2N Access Commander during regular synchronisation.
System administrators can synchronise certain Active Directory attributes – name, e-mail address, telephone number, login name and password. We added the option to map your own LDAP attributes in any field (e.g. employee’s ID, their avatar, additional phone number, RFID card number or PIN code). Thanks to the customised mappings, you gain more flexibility for centralized user and access control management. This is especially handy for temporary user deactivation. If the administrator needs to deactivate an user in the Active Directory, the user with all his access rights is disabled in the 2N Access Commander.
Note: The customisable schema also means that synchronisation will be possible with other directories using LDAP, not just Active Directory.
