Introducing a New Package Delivery Solution

Show your customers a way of taking delivery of packages even while they’re not at home. We have a great solution for this situation, which we all face from time to time.

The solution introduction

A delivery worker rings the bell on the intercom at the entrance to an apartment building. The resident answers the call on their mobile phone. They let the delivery worker in with a touch of a button in the application. They instruct them to leave the package in the special package delivery room, which is just nearby. Before the delivery worker gets to the room, a second intercom installed at the door to the room automatically calls the resident. The resident also opens this door for the delivery worker in the mobile application. The great thing about this is that they can watch the delivery worker the whole time. How? Through the intercom camera at the entrance door, the intercom camera at the package room and the external camera inside the room. We also present this solution in a minute-long video. Take a look.

What do you need for this?

The ideal solution is to install a 2N® IP Verso intercom with a display and Bluetooth reader by the entrance. A 2N® IP Verso with a Bluetooth reader is then suitable for the package delivery room. Residents can then use their mobile phones to gain access to the building and the package delivery room. Inside the room, it would be a good idea to install an external IP camera, such as those from Axis. Each resident must have the 2N® Mobile Video application installed on their phone to communicate with the courier remotely.

How do you set things up?

The solution can be set up in the web interface for our intercoms in the automation section. How exactly do you do that? You’ll find it in our FAQs. It’ll only take you a couple of minutes.

Why did we create this solution?

Our research shows that residents are willing to pay for solutions like this. You are offering the same service provided by receptions for buildings which do not actually have one. In buildings which do have a reception, you ease the receptionist’s workload. According to our research, work with packages takes the receptionist more than 4 hours a week. The solution also means including an additional intercom and the 2N® Mobile Video service for all the residents in the project. You can also add an external camera for the package delivery room. More items on the invoice mean a higher profit margin.
