Connection of external buttons to the 2N IP Intercom

How to connect the external buttons

External memory buttons can be connected to the connector for connecting the expansion module. If there is no expansion module connected to the base unit, the external buttons can be connected to the connector on the communicator's motherboard (see figure below). The buttons are connected between the contact "common" and the contacts "button7" to button 14".

Warning

Connecting external buttons to the communicator creates a higher risk of damage to the electronics and therefore, if this work is not performed by the manufacturer's service technician, the warranty on the base unit electronics is void. Only button contacts or relay contacts can be connected to the communicator. These contacts must not be connected to any other device or to telephone line, power or ground wires at the same time. The maximum length of the wires leading to the external buttons must not exceed 1 m.
