External USB RFID reader 125kHz EMarine - Usage without any additional driver

The steps in this article require using the web interface of a 2N device. Please follow this manual in case this is your first time using the web interface.

 

You can use our external USB RFID reader to add RFID cards/fobs to the 2N IP Intercom´s and 2N Access Unit´s users directly from your computer.
This guide will show you how to use this USB 125KHz RFID reader (9137420E).

Prerequisities

  • 2N USB 125KHz RFID reader (9137420E)
  • 2N IP intercom or 2N Access Unit with the latest firmware, equipped with 125 kHz RFID reader
  • English keyboard in the computer system

 

Installation

To use the USB 125 kHz RFID reader, you do not need a specific driver.
It works similar to a keyboard, sending codes of top (row) numeric keyboard.
 

  • Connect the USB reader to the USB port of your computer.
  • Setup English keyboard in the system.

 

Reading 125 kHz RFID card

  • 2N IP intercom or 2N Access Unit

    • Go to the web interface of the device, section Directory - Users - specific user - User Cards.

    • Click your mouse on the Card ID field. Make sure it is completely empty.

    • Swipe your RFID card over the USB reader (the code is automatically translated from DEC to HEX) and save.

  • 2N Access Commander

    • Use your web browser to open the web configuration, go to Settings - Credentials section and enable the reader to use.
