Rely on long-term software support for our products

Beginning in 2026 we’ll move our non-ARTPEC-based intercoms to long-term support. What is the benefit of long-term support? Which intercoms will be affected? Keep on reading to find out.

Interest in our ARTPEC-based intercoms is steadily increasing. And it’s obvious why. ARTPEC-based intercoms bring advanced features, especially related to image quality and greater computing power. We expect that this trend will accelerate even further.

On the other hand, our non-ARTPEC intercoms continue to be reliable solutions for a wide range of projects. However, we won’t be introducing any new features to them moving forward. That’s why we’ve decided to move non-ARTPEC-based intercoms to LTS (long-term support).

Here’s the products that will be affected:

  • 2N IP Verso (first generation)
  • 2N IP Force (first generation)
  • 2N IP Safety
  • 2N IP Solo
  • 2N IP Base
  • 2N IP Uni
  • 2N IP Audio Kit
  • 2N IP Vario
  • 2N LTE Verso
  • 2N SIP Speaker

The new era of long-term support (LTS)

The focus of LTS is to maintain the products' integration with third-party devices and software, while still receiving necessary bug fixes and cybersecurity updates. LTS is our way of ensuring maximum consistency. It has a fixed feature set, and a new version is created only if a new bug or cybersecurity threat occurs.

We’re in the first stage and plan to introduce the first LTS version of the 2N OS – namely 2N OS 2.50 – for the products mentioned above in December 2025.

What about the rest of our portfolio?

The rest of the 2N OS based products (including ARTPEC based intercoms 2N IP Style, 2N IP Verso 2.0, 2N IP Force 2.0, 2N IP One, all access readers, indoor stations and other products) will be on the so-called active track from December 2025. That is the most updated and feature progressive 2N OS, which still includes regular cybersecurity patches.

These products will get a new 2N OS 3.0 version instead of 2N OS 2.50 (LTS).

What’s next?

In the next stage (expected in late 2026), we’ll also introduce LTS for the rest of the portfolio. Then you can choose between the active track (which receives new features and cybersecurity updates as soon as possible) or the LTS track (which prioritises maximum level of consistency and compatibility), depending on the project's requirements.
