Integration with 2N products

1. General Description

   2N devices (IP Intercoms as well as Access Units) integrate with Can'nX products via the Link'nX KNX IoT Linker gateway, effectively bridging the worlds of IP-based access control and wired KNX building automation. This connection is vital for customers because it allows 2N devices to function as intelligent sensors and actuators within the KNX ecosystem. It eliminates the need to manage separate systems, allowing you, for example, to use your 2N door entry unit to trigger coordinated actions across your entire KNX installation.

2. Intelligent Scenario Creation

   The core benefit is the ability to create powerful, unified automation scenarios. Events originating at your 2N device—such as a Code Entered, Card Entered, or Motion Detected—become Triggers that execute specific KNX Actions. For instance, a validated access card tap on your 2N reader can unlock the door and simultaneously send a command via Link'nX to the KNX bus to turn on the hallway lights or adjust the heating, all tailored to your schedule using Customizable Conditions. 
   Similarly, the Control Centre screen buttons of the 2N Indoor View can also be used to trigger KNX Actions directly from this 2N Indoor unit. 

3. Enhanced Control and Door Monitoring

   Furthermore, the integration provides two-way control and monitoring, significantly enhancing security and convenience. You can send commands from your KNX interface or mobile app to the 2N device to remotely control the door lock or hold the door open. Conversely, the system reports critical 2N statuses—like Tamper Switch Activated or Unauthorized Door Open—back to the KNX system, enabling the immediate launch of security procedures such as activating an alarm or playing a voice message through a KNX speaker.

4. Device Monitoring & Notifications

   From the Can’nX cloud interface, you can import your ETS configuration, select the group addresses to monitor, and easily create graphs to validate your installation’s performance. 
   Monitoring up to 50 group addresses is free for 3 months, with optional subscriptions available for expanded capacity. 
   You can also enable push or email notifications for datagram status or bus failures, and access other features like remote access and flow development without a subscription.
