The Grand Hotel Kempinski

The Grand Hotel Kempinski is a top 5-star luxury hotel in Riga, situated in the heart of the Latvian capital. The elegant hotel has the finest collection of 141 luxury rooms and suites along with all-day dining, a rooftop restaurant and a luxury spa facility. The hotel management was looking for a new access control system based on IP network technology which would be reliable, stylish and easy to install. When our integration partner, Datu tehnoloģiju grupa, was asked to install the new access system, the brief was clear:

  • Focus on exclusivity and easy installation
  • Innovative functionality and easy administration
  • Luxurious appearance of the access units in the hotel interior
  • Provide an open, integrated and reliable solution

2N Indoor Touch 2.0 answering units were installed at the reception and in the superior exclusive hotel rooms, including The Presidential Suite. This stylish internal communicator comes with a 7" HD tempered glass display and Wi-Fi connectivity. It is the latest high-end model in 2N’s line of answering units and is specifi cally designed for luxury apartments.

2N IP Verso

A 2N IP Verso security intercom with a RFID reader was installed at the building’s main entrances and The Presidential Suite. The IP Verso intercom was awarded the prestigious Red Dot Design Award and stands out for its modularity, luxury design and enhanced capabilities.

2N Access Unit 2.0 

2N Access Units 2.0 RFID were installed at the service entrances for all employees. This allows the hotel management to grant special access to cleaners, sta or receptionists, and check who has entered each zone or door.

2N Access Commander

The configuration and management of the complete access system is ensured by 2N Access Commander. Through the graphical user interface, access permissions and specific functions are set in bulk, such as who has access to specific doors or zones. In due course, it would also be possible to add a time and attendance system which records the attendance of employees.
