Unveiling 2N OS 3.0 and the new Long-Term Support Track

2N OS 3.0 – a new generation of configuration experience

With 2N OS 3.0, we took the best of the current web interface and elevated it with a cleaner, faster, and more intuitive design. The brand-new configuration environment includes:

• A redesigned dashboard
• Smart installation and configuration wizards
• User interface improvements shaped by extensive integrator feedback
• Full-text search across the web interface
• A unified design aligned with 2N Access Commander

And for maximum flexibility, users can still switch back to the previous interface.

It is important to note that due to hardware limitations, not all products in the current 2N portfolio will support 2N OS 3.0. However, it will be available for the vast majority of devices, including:

• Selected IP Intercoms: 2N IP Style, 2N IP Verso 2.0, 2N IP Force 2.0, 2N IP One
• 2N Access Unit readers
• 2N Answering Units
• Other devices: 2N SIP Speaker Horn, 2N LiftIP 2.0, 2N Sentrio

2N OS 2.50 – the beginning of long-term support

For our long-standing intercom models without an AXIS ARTPEC processor and also for 2N SIP Speaker, we are releasing 2N OS 2.50. This version reflects the hardware limitations of older devices and does not introduce any new features.

These products already offer a rich feature set and remain highly competitive on the market. Because no new functionality has been added in recent months, 2N OS 2.50 becomes the final feature version for these models and ushers in a formal Long-Term Support (LTS) phase, providing continued stability and security updates without modifying existing features or APIs.

What LTS means for customers

LTS offers a predictable and dependable 2N OS path for long-running installations, making it ideal for users who value consistency and reliability. It ensures:

• Guaranteed 5-year software support following product EoL announcement
• Ongoing cybersecurity updates
• Bug fixes with no impact on existing functionality
• No retesting required after updates, as no major code changes are made

Looking ahead: LTS for the 3.x series coming in 2026

At the end of 2026, we will release an LTS version for the 2N OS 3.x line. This will allow customers to take full advantage of the new two-track model:

• Active Track: continuous innovation, new features, and the latest cybersecurity enhancements
• LTS Track: fixed functionality, maximum consistency, long-term reliability, bug fixes, and security patches

This transparent strategy ensures that every installation – new or existing – can select the ideal 2N OS path.

Native support for 2N Fortis

Both 2N OS 3.0 and 2.50 now include native support for 2N Fortis electronic locks. This simplifies installation and maintenance by removing the need for separate software variants depending on lock support.
