Introducing mobile access for the 2N IP One

And not only for the 2N IP One, but for any 2N intercom or access reader that doesn’t support Bluetooth or RFID. How is that possible? Read on.

Previously, the My2N App offered three ways to open doors:

  • Via Bluetooth – short range
  • Via NFC – short range
  • By initiating a call and sending a DTMF command – remote

We’ve upgraded the third method. Instead of initiating a call and sending a DTMF signal, the app now opens the door via API. No call required. This change makes remote access faster and even more reliable

But that’s not all. It also unlocks new possibilities

You can now remotely open door with any 2N intercom or access reader from the My2N App, regardless of the access control technology used, even if there’s none! Yes, that includes devices like the 2N IP One or the 2N Access Unit 2.0 Touch Keypad.

We call it “remote access” because the command is sent via the cloud. However, users can still open doors for themselves as they approach, just like with Bluetooth or NFC.

How does it work?

To use this feature, devices must be added to the My2N Management Platform and connected to the internet, as the API is delivered via our cloud infrastructure. You’ll also need to manually enable this option for access readers in the platform. For intercoms, it’s activated automatically.

Please note: this functionality is part of the cloud calling feature in the My2N App, not the mobile access section (Bluetooth/NFC).

It’s also worth mentioning that the legacy method using DTMF calls is still supported as a fallback, helping to ensure service reliability.

What do you need?

To enable it, you need a license for intercom-to-mobile app calling, which allows users to receive intercom calls on their mobile phones. This license is available either as a subscription or for free through selected offers. For example, it's included for free with each indoor station in residential projects.

In most cases, projects already include intercom-to-mobile app calling, which means this new feature will be available automatically.
