Success Story F1 Circuit de Spa: Securing the Famous Grand Prix with 2N products

F1 Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps

The F1 Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps is one of the classic Grand Prix circuits of the world, located in the hilly Ardennes Forest area of Belgium. The legendary circuit has been hosting the Belgian Grand Prix since 1925 and is one of Formula 1’s most challenging and historic racetracks. Given the number of visitors each year, the management was given a brief to improve the security around the main entrances to the venue. When our partner, Createl SA, was asked to provide the new access control solution, the requirements were clear:

  • Easily integrated with the existing access system
  • Products that withstand the most demanding weather conditions
  • Provide reliable and robust products
  • Simple installation and administration

Secure access 


The circuit enjoys enhanced access control using the reader, keypad and integrated camera, achieving a greater level of security for all of the fans coming to the racetrack. 2N IP Force makes control of the staff and invited people in the restricted area. 

Functionality 


The integrated 2N access solution is simple to use – Card Reader IDs are sent over Wiegand interface to the existing access control system. The system also provides a video stream recorded on VMS.

The new access system combines an anti-vandal solution with the highest durability according to IP69K and IK10 standards, and an elegant design.

The 2N Mobile Video cloud service allowed the 2N IP Force intercom to call a mobile phone or tablet.

2N Remote Configuration saved time and money for the onsite support. The administrator can access all of the devices remotely via a secure cloud connection.

2N IP Force

2N IP Force intercoms were installed at the 15 entrances to the circuit, providing secure access control using the reader and integrated camera. A wide-angle HD camera monitors events around the intercom and has 135° wide viewing with a night vision model. It is the toughest IP intercom on the market, combining an anti-vandal solution with an elegant design. High durability was guaranteed by the IP69K and IK10 standards. The simple integration to the existing security system allowed the 2N® IP Force intercoms to be connected with the CCTV and surveillance system. For additional security, it was also interconnected with Wiegand interface
