Villa Melitta

Villa Melitta is a private retirement home and rehabilitation centre in Bolzano, Italy, with an excellent reputation. It has recently relocated to a new-build complex equipped to the highest international standards and accommodating more than 160 residents and patients. Due to the number of residents, retirement home employees and visitors, a fully integrated intercom and access control system was essential. When we were asked to install the intelligent access control system, the requirements were clear:

  • 300 2N Access Units with NFC/RFID readers
  • A reliable IP access control system with smart features
  • A simple and intuitive solution for both staff and residents
  • Ease of administration, configuration and installation
  • Scalable to cover additional entrances or residents
  • Seamless integration with the BMS system Livion

2N Access Unit

A total of 300 2N Access Units with NFC/RFID readers were installed at the entrances of each room in the residential section, including the entrances to the pool, gyms and other rehabilitation facilities. In addition to RFID cards, a mobile phone can be used for identification. Staff and residents only need the 2N Mobile Key app, which turns their smartphone into an access card

2N IP Verso

2N IP Verso intercoms equipped with a capacitive Touch keypad were installed at each entrance to provide convenient yet secure access to the complex for residents, retirement home employees, and visitors. Adjustable back-lighting ensures the visibility of the keypad even at night.

2N Access Commander  

The simple integration with the BMS system Livion allowed all 2N intercoms and Access Units to be connected with the surveillance system. The configuration and management of the complete system is ensured by 2N Access Commander.

2N Access Unit 2.0

In case one of the residents falls, their Bluetooth Bracelet sends an alarm and their location to the BMS system, which is forwarded immediately to the smartphones of staff. It also sends an http command to the 2N Access Unit so that the door is kept open for staff.
