The Solution 2N designed and implemented a comprehensive access control security solution for a secondary school in Brno. The main components of the system are:

2N Access Unit 2.0

enables access to the building for authorised persons only, ensuring security for students and school staff. The RFID and Bluetooth technologies that the units are equipped with allow students to enter the school through turnstiles using an ISIC card or a chip, and staff to enter the school using a chip or a mobile phone.

2N IP Verso 2.0

The 2N IP Verso 2.0 video intercoms provide visitors access to the school, even when the building is locked, for example, for teaching or evening rental of commercial premises. Visitors use the intercom to contact responsible persons who respond via an IP or mobile phone and the My2N app.

2N Access Commander is the central system for remotely managing access to the school and setting up access for authorised individuals. Centralised management ensures that access credentials are always up-to-date and therefore secure.

Some of the 2N Access Unit 2.0 units allow for external calls to be made directly to classrooms via IP-enabled telephones, which enables authentication before visitors are allowed into the classroom.

The Implementation The Advantages

The demand for school security in the Czech Republic has been growing in recent years, mainly due to the increasing risk to students. When designing the solution for the school in Brno, 2N experts based their design on experience from similar projects carried out abroad. However, they also adapted the system to the specific needs of the Czech environment.

  • Security

    All entrances to the building are secured with premium access technologies. Only authorized persons are allowed access to the building. In addition, integration with fire alarm systems ensures that in the event of an emergency (e.g. fire) the turnstiles automatically retract, allowing for rapid evacuation.

  • Communication and access control

    authorised school staff can communicate with visitors via an IP phone or mobile phone and the My2N mobile app. The combined technologies allow for flexible access control.

  • Threat prevention

    Thanks to the integration of 2N with the Bakaláři software for students and the Advent attendance system for employees, the school management keeps a constant overview of the actual number of people in the building. Thus, the school is able to effectively prevent potential threats. Of course, the school integrates a link to electronic attendance and class registers.

  • Convenience

    Students use secure chips or ISIC cards to gain access, while school staff can use a Bluetooth mobile phone with the My2N app in addition to the chip. Everyone has the option to choose which technology is more convenient for them.
