Another key milestone was the introduction of 2N Clip 2wire-IP, a breakthrough designed specifically for retrofits. It enables full IP video communication to run over existing cabling, eliminating the need for re-cabling. For property owners, it offers a clear route to future-proofing buildings without the disruption of replacing wires.
The 2N Clip 2wire-IP does more than convert cabling: together with other parts of 2N solution it unlocks modern video communication, convenient features like intercom-to-mobile app calling or mobile access, and it also allows remote management. Later in this blog, you’ll see how 2N Clip 2wire-IP played a key role in transforming a 50-year-old residential building into a fully modernized collection of homes.
Completing the Access Journey: 2N Fortis Electronic Locks
In 2025, we also introduced the 2N Fortis electronic locks that complete the end-to-end access control story across apartments, offices, and other interior or retrofit spaces. Designed specifically for the EMEA region, Fortis delivers keyless access without cables or wall penetrations, making it ideal for doors that are difficult to wire or simply shouldn’t be wired.
There are two main variants: the Fortis Handle, a sleek, battery-powered handle suited for commercial and interior doors, and the Fortis Cylinder, a compact electronic cylinder that brings full keyless locking to residential apartment entrances.
Smarter Software for a More Connected Experience
2025 was also a transformative year for our software ecosystem. Our goal remained consistent: making everyday life easier for residents and giving property managers and installers stronger tools to run connected, future-proof systems.A major milestone was the expansion of the My2N App, which serves as our central hub for mobility and remote access. Apple Watch support introduced a new level of hands-free convenience: users can now unlock the door directly from their wrist, streamlining everyday interactions.
The new Visitor Access feature for the My2N App further enhanced the experience by allowing residents to create secure, time-limited access for guests, couriers, and service providers with just a few taps, reducing administrative load and ensuring greater control.
Our indoor stations also saw important updates, particularly the 2N Indoor View. With the new 2N Control Center screen, you can create up to 12 virtual buttons that send HTTP commands. So, residents can now manage their smart home through a single intuitive interface.
Alongside these app and indoor station enhancements, 2025 also marked the launch of 2N OS 3.0, a major upgrade to the device software experience. The new operating system introduces a modernized graphical user interface with a redesigned dashboard, smart setup wizards, improved navigation, and a unified look aligned with 2N Access Commander.
At the same time, we introduced 2N OS 2.50, the first release from our new Long-Term Support (LTS) track. Built for long-standing intercom models (those without the AXIS ARTPEC processor), this version focuses on stability rather than new features, delivering continued security updates and bug fixes without changing existing functionality.
Deeper Integrations for a Seamless, Open Ecosystem
In 2025, access control moved further into the era of connected environments. Installers, developers, and IT teams now expect access control to integrate naturally with the broader digital ecosystem, and our focus on open standards positioned 2N to deliver on that expectation. One major step was our alignment with Microsoft Teams, enabling organizations to route door calls directly into their existing Teams environment. This supports modern hybrid workplaces by simplifying communication flows and reducing the number of interfaces staff need to manage.
Our collaboration with AXIS has also strengthened, delivering tighter interoperability across intercoms, cameras, and management platforms. For customers using both ecosystems, this unlocks a smoother configuration process and a more unified operational experience.
Another important step forward was the growing role of 2N Access Commander as an integration hub. This powerful tool makes it possible to connect 2N access control with almost any third-party system — from building management platforms to custom enterprise workflows — without complex development.
In 2025, this capability was further strengthened through the launch of the 2N Node-RED Specialist initiative, which helps partners design, validate, and deploy advanced integrations with confidence. Together, Access Commander and Node-RED reinforce 2N’s open-ecosystem philosophy, giving integrators the freedom to tailor solutions precisely to each project’s needs.
Integration is no longer a bonus feature; it’s an expectation that defines modern building technology. This year’s advancements reinforced the flexibility, efficiency, and simplicity that an open-platform approach brings to both commercial and residential environments.
Cybersecurity as a Core Commitment
In 2025, cybersecurity continued to be a foundational priority for 2N, not as a marketing message, but as a responsibility to our partners and customers. As connected buildings become more complex, the resilience of access control systems is critical to long-term trust and operational stability. This year, we reached several important milestones. We published seven CVEs (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures), reinforcing our transparent approach to vulnerability disclosure and continuous improvement. We also became a CNA (CVE Numbering Authority), enabling us to identify, document, and address security issues more efficiently across our portfolio. In parallel, most of our products achieved compliance with the Radio Equipment Directive (RED), strengthening their readiness for current and upcoming European regulatory requirements. To support partners and customers beyond our own products, we also launched a dedicated cybersecurity eBook, sharing practical guidance, regulatory context, and best practices for securing modern access control and networked building systems.
Together, these steps reflect a mature, proactive security strategy — one focused on accountability, compliance, and long-term protection rather than short-term gains.
