Installing IP intercoms is not always straightforward. In retrofit projects, historical buildings, remote entrances, or sites without fixed internet access, running a PoE cable to the entrance can quickly become complicated, expensive, or simply impossible.

To help address these challenges, 2N now offers the Milesight 4G Mini Industrial Router UR41: a compact, power-efficient 4G router designed to bring the benefits of IP-based intercom systems to locations where traditional network infrastructure is difficult to deploy.

Using 4G technology means no network cable is needed aside from a power supply. Combined with the My2N Management Platform, installers can remotely configure 2N intercoms online and set up secure cloud calling directly to the My2N App or to the answering units in apartments (use 2N Clip 2wire-IP if you need to use to existing cabling).

Fast and simple deployment

The Milesight 4G Mini Industrial Router UR41 is designed for quick plug-and-play setup. Installers simply insert a SIM card, connect the router to a power supply, change the default password, add the 2N intercom via serial number into My2N, and configure everything remotely through the My2N cloud.

The router provides secure 4G connectivity without the need for large or expensive gateway solutions, helping reduce installation complexity while still enabling advanced IP features such as video communication, mobile access and remote access management.

Compact design for demanding environments

With its palm-sized form factor and flexible mounting options, including DIN rail, wall, or desktop installation, the router can easily fit into projects with limited space. An optional installation kit for 2N IP Verso (9155490SET) also allows the router to be installed behind the 2N IP Verso blind module.

Despite its compact size, the device is built for demanding environments. It features an industrial-grade NXP processor, fast network response, support for multiple VPN types, and operation over a temperature range of -40°C to +60°C. The router is also highly power-efficient, with very low operating consumption and a peak of just 260mA, making it suitable for locations with limited power resources.

Built for challenging installation environments

The Milesight 4G Mini Industrial Router UR41 opens new possibilities for projects where fixed connectivity has traditionally been a challenge. Whether connecting a remote entrance gate several kilometers away from a building, modernizing an analog system in a protected historical property, or bringing IP access technology to sites with local IT limitations, installers can now deploy 2N intercoms with far greater flexibility.
