From hundreds of clicks to a few: 2N Access Commander 3.6

Managing access control systems just became significantly faster and more flexible. With the release of 2N Access Commander 3.6, we’re introducing powerful new features designed to simplify everyday operations while giving administrators deeper insight and control across their installations.

Work efficiently with device templates

One of the standout features in version 3.6 is Device Templates – a game changer for anyone configuring multiple devices.

Instead of repeating the same steps over and over, you can now:

  • Save the configuration of any 2N OS–based device
  • Edit it and apply it to other devices individually or in bulk
  • Create templates from a connected device, an imported configuration file, or a backup
  • Select specific parts of the configuration to change only what you need
  • Deploy changes safely with automatic backups for easy rollback
What used to take hundreds of clicks can now be done in seconds. Tasks like updating settings across dozens – or even hundreds – of devices are reduced to just a few simple actions. The result? Fewer errors, massive time savings, and a much smoother setup process.

Complete visibility with unified Call logs

2N Access Commander 3.6 introduces a single, consolidated view of all call activity across your system. You can now:

  • Monitor incoming and outgoing calls from intercoms and emergency elevator communicators

  • Track door unlocking events directly within call logs

  • Filter and export logs for reporting or audits

  • Optionally capture images from intercoms when calls begin (retained for up to 1 year to support GDPR compliance)

This unified approach delivers a true “single pane of glass” experience, combining communication and access events in one place. It also helps meet EN 81-28 standard by logging elevator emergency and test calls.

Delegate smarter with Company Admin

Managing multi-company environments is now easier thanks to the new Company Admin role.

This brand-new role allows designated users to:

  • Manage company-specific settings such as working hours, holidays, and visitor rules

  • Edit email templates and synchronize users via LDAP

  • View system logs and manage device access

Previously restricted to full system administrators, these capabilities are now delegated – giving organizations more independence while maintaining data privacy and control.

Additional enhancements that make a difference

Version 3.6 also brings several practical upgrades that improve everyday usability:

  • Faster, more secure WaveKey pairing
    Users can pair their My2N app via a QR code displayed in 2N Access Commander or using a link or QR code sent by email (supported on devices running 2N OS 2.50/3.0 and higher).
  • Shared MIFARE DESFire cards
    There is no longer a need to format MIFARE DESFire cards exclusively for use with our readers. We now support encrypted DESFire cards with third-party applications, allowing a single card to serve multiple purposes – such as access control and on-site services.
  • Improved network discovery
    With mDNS support, 2N Access Commander can now be easily discovered on the local network using the 2N IP Utility and accessed via a browser at https://accesscommander.local – no IP address required.
