How to use a 2N indoor station as a smart home control center

The 2N Indoor View’s Control Center adds a new dimension to this indoor station. It features a customizable screen with up to 12 virtual buttons. Each button can be configured to send HTTP commands to a home automation controller or Smart Home Hub. Essentially, this allows the indoor station to act as a remote control for various home systems.

Here are some practical examples of what residents can do directly from the 2N Indoor View:

How it works

The 2N Indoor View sends HTTP commands to any home automation controller that supports an HTTP API. The controller then carries out the requested actions. In practice, this means the Control Center of the 2N Indoor View is compatible with any home automation provider whose home automation controller supports HTTP API. Loxone and Schneider are just two examples, but the list is much broader.

Integration with KNX

The 2N Indoor View can be integrated with KNX installations via KNX IP gateways that expose HTTP APIs. These gateways receive or send HTTP commands on one side and translate them to the KNX bus on the other. For example, Can’nX devices work seamlessly for this purpose. Using the Kloud’nX platform, the indoor station can send commands to the KNX bus and trigger KNX actions. These actions can also be refined using Customizable Conditions (for example, allowing certain tasks to run only during the day or only at night), depending on the user’s needs.

How to set it up

You just need to log in to 2N Indoor View’s web interface and go to the Services > Control Center section. There, you enter the button name, select the icon, fill in the URL, username, and password (if needed).
