2N Fortis Cylinder

Built for residential use, this electronic cylinder is perfect for apartment doors where a fully locked bolt (not just a latch) is required. Ideal for both new builds and retrofits, it’s available in indoor and outdoor versions (IP66) and supports popular cylinder types, including Euro profile and Scandinavian oval.

Works offline – and that’s smart

2N Fortis locks don’t need a constant connection to stay secure. They use a clever offline synchronisation process with your online 2N devices:

1. The facility manager sets access rights and time profiles in 2N Access Commander.
2. These changes are instantly synced to all online 2N devices, like IP intercoms and Access Units.
3. When users swipe their RFID card at any online reader, the card is automatically updated with the latest access permissions.
4. The updated card is then used to unlock the offline doors – the electronic cylinder reads and verifies the access rights stored on the card.

This approach ensures reliable access in areas with limited network coverage – without the need for gateways, hubs, or additional infrastructure.
