General Description
Enterprise customers adopting MS Teams platform use SIP Gateway to allow 2N IP Intercoms to communicate bi-directionally with/via MS Teams.
SIP Gateway lets your organization use any compatible SIP device with MS Teams to preserve your investments in SIP devices. Now you can sign-in to MS Teams with your corporate credentials and make and receive calls with a compatible 2N device.
2N IP devices (the whole list see below) are certified by Microsoft and listed as SIP Gateway Compatible devices: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/devices/sip-gateway-plan. -
Supported features
MS SIP GW only supports audio calls
Make calls: 2N devices can make calls to MS Teams users but also the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) or to other SIP devices. 2N device can only call users who have phone numbers.
2N devices can call “Call Queues”.
Receive calls: 2N devices can receive a call from Teams applications but also from the PSTN and from other Teams users who have SIP devices. The 2N device acts as a MS Teams endpoint. Inbound calls will be received on the 2N device.
MS Teams users can answer calls coming from the 2N devices on their Teams desktop client, Teams compatible desk phone or MS Teams Smartphone app.
It is possible to trigger the door lock directly from Teams desktop client or MS Teams Smartphone app., using the MS Teams Dialpad.

MS Teams License
To connect a SIP device to the Microsoft SIP GW, you must have the following:- Microsoft Teams
- Teams Phone
- PSTN Connectivity (if external connectivity is needed)
For a 2N device, the „Microsoft Teams Shared Device“ license is recommended.
For voice applications, like Auto Attendants and Call Queues, use the following specialised license: Microsoft Teams Phone Resource Account.
