Let residents manage access within their apartment

New apartment admin features in the My2N App allow you to delegate routine access management directly to residents. This means less work for property managers and more flexibility and independence for residents.

New apartment admin role in the My2N App

Selected residents can now be assigned the Apartment Admin role. This role allows them to partially manage the door communication and access control for their apartment. Apartment admins can:

  • Add new residents to their apartment and, if needed, delete or adjust them.
  • Enable or disable intercom-to-mobile app calling with a single click. Changes are synchronized instantly.
  • Enable or disable mobile access with one click. Access credentials are distributed online, so there is no need to pair the mobile phone with an access reader.
  • Generate or regenerate an access PIN code.
  • View the number of a resident’s RFID access card. They cannot assign, delete, or change card numbers. This remains the responsibility of the site administrator.
  • Edit the apartment label displayed on the intercom if a display-equipped intercom is installed. This applies to 2N IP Style or 2N IP Verso 2.0 with a touch display.

What benefits does this offer?

Imagine a tenant whose partner moves in or whose grown up child moves out. Instead of contacting the property manager and waiting for changes to be processed, the apartment admin can update access in the My2N App immediately.

How can a resident become an apartment admin?

The Apartment Admin role is assigned by a site administrator (property manager or integrator). Multiple residents within the same apartment can have the apartment admin role. For example, all adults living in the apartment.

Two types of residents

When creating a new resident, an apartment admin can choose between two user types: with a login or without a login.

  • A user with a login is a standard user who uses a mobile phone for access and/or answering intercom calls. In this case, the apartment admin must enter the resident’s full name and email address.
  • A user without login is ideal for children or elderly residents. No email address is required. Because there is no login, intercom-to-mobile calling and mobile access are not available for this user.

Creating a visitor

The option to create visitors and grant them access has been available in the My2N App for some time and remains very popular. Just as a reminder: if residents are expecting a visitor, they can simply send them a PIN or QR code, allowing for easy, secure access.
