Battery failure signalization - EasyGate PRO ""snake"" signal strength

Battery failure is signalized by rotation of the signal strength indicator as shown below: This might happen if your batteries have more then 2 years, or that there is some kind of battery problem.To check batteries and solve battery life issue: SMS solution (Only for EasyGates PRO with firmware 18.x.x) Check batteries with SMS EG INF 12345, you will receive SMS where you will see this information: EXP:0 Time to battery change (days): Lift Functions Put new batteries into the gateway 4x AA NIMH. Send SMS with counter reset, parameter 60, confirmation with password: EG CNF 12345 60 = 12345. Note When the batteries expire, the line voltage does not turn off, as with other power failures. SMS sent in case of power / battery error has the form: Power: On Battery: Ready Expire in: 0 Analogue phone connected to the FXS port solution: Try to change batteries. Reset with the analogue phone connected to the FXS port by dialing 12345*60*12345* the counter for battery expiration. Warning For backup use only suggested type of accumulators NiMh size AA. Only this type of storage batteries is permitted for use! When another type of batteries is used, there is a danger of damage of device or even explosion! Recommended batteries are with at least 2000mAh.The battery should never be placed in municipal waste. Please check local regulations for disposal of batteries.

Calling - How many simultaneous calls can I do with 2N EasyGate?

It is same like with your mobile phone. You can do just one call at the moment.

CLIP - Does 2N EasyGate support CLIP function?

2N EasyGate is equipped with the FSK-based CLIP function. If your telephone or PBX is able to process the caller's ID, you are advised to enable this function.

Configurating 2N Lift1 via SMS in combination with 2N EasyGate Pro

Info This FAQ describes how you can configure 2N Lift1 via SMS messages. You will learn commands which you can use for SMS configuration and also possible responds to this commands. Configuration - How to program 2N EasyGate?

2N EasyGate has its own application called PC Manager. You can program easily all parameters. You must only install this application and connect 2N EasyGate with PC via serial port RS232. But it is also possible to program some parameters via phone (find it in the manual).

Connection - Can I use 2N EasyGate instead of the landline?

Yes, you can. 2N EasyGate provides you voice call, fax call, sending and receiving of SMSs. You can be connected to the internet or you can connect a modem based device. For FAX services use 2N EasyGate FAX version (special order number).

Data - Which interfaces can be used for a data call with 2N EasyGate?

RS232 - This serial interface is for sending and receiving of data RJ12 - if you have 2N EasyGate with FAX function (special order number), you can send and receive a data call via this telephone interface

Fax - How to solve a problem with faxing over GSM network?

Hardware grounding - How to ground 2N EasyGate and 2N SmartGate

To ensure proper functionality, specially to avoid interference of the analogue line of 2N EasyGate/SmartGate, proper grounding is needed. You can complete it through a left pin in the SMS input (Pic. 1) for new models of 2N EasyGate PRO and 2N SmartGate UMTS. In case of an old version 2N EasyGate/SmartGate use right pin in the SMS input! Pic. 1

How to do firmware update?

How to provide all information to effectively resolve a technical issue on 2N EasyGate

Dear customers, In case you have found some problems on the device, please report it to Technical Support with the following information: Please give us a detailed description how the problem could be simulated. Send us the current configuration of the device. Send us information about FW version and the serial number. Send us information which device is connected to the gateway (PBX, G3 FAX, analogue phone) In case of a problem with the progress tones, please send a record of it. Interconnection - Can I use 2N EasyGate with my PBX?

Yes, you can. Connect 2N EasyGate to a free CO line of your PBX. Configure your PBX in such a manner that GSM outgoing calls are routed to 2N EasyGate.

Monitoring of batteries on EasyGate PRO

2N EasyGate PRO can be equipped with batteries. Battery option allows to support functionality in case of power failure. For backup use four pieces of accumulators NiMh size AA. These accumulators are not part of delivery. You can monitor battery status. In default , monitoring of battery status is disabled. In order to enable it, please follow steps below: 1) Using USB cable, connect your 2N EasyGate PRO to computer equipped with installed PC UNI Manager 2) Once connected to gateway, please navigate to section Service as shown on picture below. a) Telephone number for service SMS. The number is common for GGMC SMS, ,'LOW CREDIT" SMS on prepaid SIM cards and Power status SMS. Setting options: 0-16 characters (0-9,11A+) Default setting: blank b) Power status SMS is send in case the battery is flat, or disconnected. Setting options: -Disable -Enable Default setting: Disable Power status SMS is send, if power failure or restore last longer than filled value. Setting 0 min means, that the function is off. Setting options: 0-255 min Default setting: 0

RMA - What to check before the RMA process for 2N analog gateway

Please, follow the steps below what to check before you send the 2N EasyGate, 2N EasyGate PRO (UMTS) and on 2N SmartGate (UMTS) device for repair: Possible issues: a) device does not boot up after plug in power source b) device doesn't get signal c) device system led flash quickly add a) Check power source or try another one. add b) Try another antenna which has better gain. In case of GSM version, be sure that in your area is GSM coverage. As there are countries where is no more GSM available. Try another mobile operator. add c) device has some hardware problems and needs to be sent for RMA. If you ask for RMA, where is obvious hardware damage, attach photos from the installation side, from the damaged part and another photo which could be important for RMA process.

SIM card logging - What to check if SIM card is not logging?

If the middle light representing GSM network is blinking slowly (1 x every 1 second) then check that antenna is properly connected allow Roaming in Programming tables/GSM&SIM via EasyGate PC Manager. By default gateway allow a SIM to log only in home network. The gateway checks ID of the SIM and ID of the network. As there are SIM providers using mobile network of other SIM providers, then these IDs are not same. If roaming is enabled then the SIM will log in such mobile network. check which mobile network standards (GSM, UMTS) are supported by the SIM provider and check signal coverage. GSM models of gateways support only GSM networks. UMTS models of gateways support GSM and UMTS networks. You can find if you have GSM or UMTS model at the backside label the gateway. You can find a list of mobile networks at Wikipedia article Mobile Network Code. This is quite reliable source how to find out which mobile network standard is supported by the SIM provider. You can also realise if the SIM provider uses a network of another SIM provider. If you want to be sure then check with your SIM provider. The list might be not up to date.
