RFID Card/RFID Tag Configuration

The steps in this article require using the web interface of a 2N device. Please follow this manual in case this is your first time using the web interface.

 

Adding a card using internal RFID Reader

To add a new RFID card to the unit, you need first to find the ID of the card.

Internal Reader Card Log

  • Put the card on the reader

  • Open up the unit web Interface

  • Select green tab "State" (1) and "Events" (2)

  • You will see the event "CardEntered" (3)

  • Copy the parameter behind "uid" (3)

Directory - User Card Setup

  • Now go to the "Directory" (4)

  • Select "Users" (5)

  • Copy the RFID uid under the "RFID Card ID" (6)

  • Lastly save the configuration (7)

Adding a card using USB RFID Reader

Saving a new RFID card's ID can also be done with 2N USB RFID reader.

 

USB RFID Reader Driver

A driver is needed for this device, you can find it here.
  • Install the driver as an administrator and connect the RFID Reader to your computer

  • Make sure the USB Reader is found and ready (1)

RFID Card Reader Driver

Directory - User Card Scan

  • Open the "Directory" (2) and "Users" (3)
  • Tap on the card icon (4)

  • Put the card on the RFID Reader 

Card Reading

  • Card ID will be inserted under the "RFID Card ID" (5)

  • Make sure to save (6)

Card has been successfully assigned to a user

Once the card is swiped on the reader module after it has been assigned to a user, it will appear together with it:

  • Click on the green "State" (1) and "Events" (2)

  • As you can see, the card has been successfully linked to an existing user - "Card Entered" and "UserAuthenticated" (3)
